Free Book FridayI just got a free copy of Heidi Julavits’ The Vanishers courtesy of the Doubleday tumblr, so now my copy of her husband’s book, The Flame Alphabet, has a friend. I have yet to read either, but Julavits wrote another book I loved (The Uses Of Enchantment) and Alphabet is about what happens when ”a terrible epidemic strikes the country and the sound of children’s speech becomes lethal.” So, that’s interesting.
