Good Intent | Kimbra
It’s not enough to say
It’s not what’s in your heart
You’ve tainted every moment
Til’ death do we part
Kimbra
She was featured on Gotye’s addictively good Somebody That I Used To Know and her EP just debuted in the US. She released a full-length down under back in August (she’s from New Zealand), but for some reason I guess WMG is just testing her out in a limited fashion stateside. In any case, she’s awesome and has a great eclectic sound that puts her in the realm of Janelle Monáe, Björk, Oh Land, and even Katy Perry.
Plain Gold Ring (Nina Simone Cover) | Kimbra
Plain gold ring on his finger, he wore
It was where everyone could see
He belonged to someone, not me
On his hand was a plain gold band
This cover is all the more awesome when you consider that it was recorded/mixed live and that she sings every single part of the track. Breathtaking.
Something Happened…
Kimbra performs a pretty awesome mashup of Grizzly Bear’s “Two Weeks” and Tears For Fears’ “Head Over Heels” for Australian radio show Like A Version radio show (it’s akin to BBC Radio 1’s Live Show)
