A Beautiful Surprise
Last night, before dinner and a terrible movie, Danny and I did our anniversary/Christmas gift exchange.  I gave him a print of Janna’s, Freedom and a Make A Decision pad.  I got a Frommers guide for Buenos Aires to prep me for my Christmas vacation there and a copy of Jorge Luis Borges Ficciones.  The kicker, however, was when we got back from the movie and stopped by his place to pick something up and, lo-and-behold, waiting for me was the print Morgan gave me six months ago, beautifully framed.  He’d snuck into my apartment over Thanksgiving (I’d left the keys with him) and took it out of my storage closet, where it’s been waiting until I could afford to get it framed.  I was SO surprised, which never happens.  Best present ever.

Close friend and wonderful photographer Morgan Levy is giving me a print of my choosing (at the cost of shipping it out to LA, because money is so very very tight).  It took me a while but I finally decided on the above shot, “What Was Once Familiar.”
