But, I'm Like, Whatever
- Drew: I just wanted to showcase this talented artist I discovered on Grindr. The next big thing, I promise. http://youtu.be/JR1IHuVBV-0
- me: I can't even. I wonder if the guy who made that song thought it was good? Also, his lyrics are ridiculous -- "I'm the talk of the town" and then later "I don't need the fame." Bitch, please.
- Drew: The only thing not starving is his art, Garrett.
Just The Tip - Episode 1 - “First Time”
In the inaugural episode of our podcast, we spend our first time telling you about our first times—which just so happen to involve a bus, a burrito, a dorm room, and Boyz II Men. We also debate whether or not Selena Gomez should be charged with statutory rape for deflowering Justin Bieber, and we talk to Classy Ladies Alie Ward and Georgia Hardstark about their Cooking Channel show, as well as what drink is best used in the art of seduction.
Ladies and gentlemen, my friends.
Suspension Of Disbelief
- me: So, Prometheus?
- Amy: Yes, I'm in.
- me: Really? It's not too scary for you?
- Amy: I'm not afraid of things that aren't real.

- Amy: Ghosts could totally happen.
Which is which?

Happy birthday, Garrett!
The first time I went to a birthday dinner for you, you were turning 19, and none of the things that made us such good friends had happened yet. The last time I went to a birthday dinner for you, you were turning 22 and preparing to leave New York for Los Angeles. Now you are 27, and I am living in LA, too, and so happy I can celebrate with you again. It has been such a pleasure to grow up and become a real person with you!
Wendy Malice
- me: Also, Sutton Foster, I'm not sure you have a face for TV.
- Rob: Correct.
- me: She's like... a slightly prettier Laura San Giacomo.
- Rob: A brick wall is a slightly prettier Laura San Giacomo.
Call you me ‘fair’? That ‘fair’ again unsay!
Halley, at the opening night party for CSC’s Midsummer Night’s Dream.
What fools these mortals be…
Classic Stage Company’s production of Midsummer Night’s Dream officially opened last night and Halley has been quite well reviewed — the New York Times says that she and Christina Ricci (Hermia) are “well matched with their delicate frames and finely chiseled beauty” and that “it’s fun to see Hermia and Helena presented as the kind of entitled young women you might see fighting to gain entry to a nightclub in the meatpacking district.” Newsday describes Halley as “a real find — delicate and pushy and touching as a character whose devotion to the uncaring Demetrius usually seems unbearably pathetic and stupid.”
I saw the production a few weeks ago and it was fantastic. Go, if you can.

Helena, Demetrius and Hermia
Halley and her costars Jordan Dean and Christina Ricci. I’m flying to New York on Tuesday (a quick trip; I’ll only be there for 24 hours) to see her in Classic Stage Company’s Midsummer Night’s Dream. It’s been almost two years since I last saw her onstage.
